This article is about the God Opus, for information about his worship see Opus.

Opus was a God created in the Beginning within the Realms Pantheon. He was worshipped throughout The Five Realms, as the God of Sun and Labour, and was the patron of Quell. Since his death, worship of his still lingers in The Five Realms though is greatly dimished. His Divine Realm was that of The Summer Fields, with his principal Solar being Zerai.

Like most gods in the Realms Pantheon, there is no singular depiction of Opus's appearance. Depictions often showed him glowing with the light of the sun, or it burning in his eyes. As his worship was so prevailent in Quell, it is not uncommon for depictions of him to be primarily human in nature though he has been depicted as a member of likely every humanoid race at some point.

Shortly after Ævar's Death, conflict between Opus and Kallita broke out, following the declaration that magic was an abomination and should be eradicated by his then High Priestess. This declaration resulted in the Quellian/Mironian War which spanned over 3000 years. Though the war ended upon Ævar's Return, this reportedly did not fix the continued conflict between the two deities.

On the day of Ævar's Return, everyone in The Five Realms shared a vision in which a mortal form of Opus was defeated in single combat by Astor Harana. This significantly lessened his hold on Quell, which was no longer a theocracy in his name, and presumably with it lessened his godly powers.

Opus was killed during the Assault on Heaven, his presence no longer able to be felt in The Five Realms with Clerics, Paladins, Priests and Priestesses losing their powers overnight. His place in the Realms Pantheon was replaced primarily by the creation of Caesius.
