The Yonian Dynasty, also known as the Land of the Arts, is a nation situated on the southern coast of Ascistan. It borders the Final Empire to the north, and is considered the birthplace of our modern interpretation of the Fey.

With a rich culture and stunning landscapes, Yonia's aquatic wildlife, open fields, and cherry-colored leaves invoked a renaissance of literature. Soon after, literary works, exotic music, and delicious cuisines began to emerge from the inner boundaries of Yonia, spreading across the entire world.

  • Existing as the birthing grounds for most modern artistry. Calligraphy, poetry, and animation all had their earliest beginnings here.
  • Delicious eastern cuisine that threaten to send one's taste buds alight with divine exquisiteness.
  • Having one of the most multi-cultural aquatic wildlife preserves on Kagrea, and having quite a large aquatic population around its borders.
  • Being the birthplace of the Fey, and one of the many lands on the Material Plane with claim by the Seelie Court.
  • Its rich history as a nation born amidst the flames of war, splitting and reuniting several times during its lifespan.

Government

Yonia rules as a dynasty, a sequence of rulers from the same family, brought forth in the context of a monarchical system. The emperor or empress of Yonia pulls their power from the Fey, which in turn pull their power from the Creator. In Yonia, being the emperor or empress is a position afforded to you by the gods.

The dynasty changes hands as a matter of militaristic voting practices set forth by the citizens of state. When an emperor or empress abdicates, but is normally usurped by the ruling military party, a vote is held to bring forth the next change in rulers. This process is done in modern times without a single drop of blood, and is generally seen as the gods pushing forth innovation by choosing another worthy successor.

As of the 3131 AD national census, the total residents of Yonia total around 541,035 citizens, in addition to 12,539 temporary-class citizens under the Foreign Initiative plan.

Since populations are rounded down, races below 1% on the chart are not shown.

Yonia's style features stylized, voluminous light blue and purple garments, typically with cropped varying necklines. Skirts and culottes are also customary. Sashes are popular accessories alongside amulets and diadems.

Economy

Much of Yonia's economy is based on the arts. While an art-based civilization may appear impossible at first glance, due to the severe drought of works produced by other nations (with the only comparable art industry being located in Sollabring), Yonia is able to stay afloat from its creative industry alone.

Dozens of various different media are produced and exported to different lands every day, including: anime, manga, games, books, movies, and television programming.

Beyond that, Yonia also has a large culinary market, and thanks to the Foreign Initiative that was enacted ten years ago, foreigners are allowed to obtain permanent residence in Yonia with the promise that they continue to produce works of art for the nation.

Finally, Yonia's major crop export is rice.

History

Once, it was said the mighty Yonia Dynasty controlled much of Eastern Ascistan, but after the warring periods of the Collapse, it was greatly reduced in size. However, during the times of peace, Yonia quickly established a new identity: one of music and poetry.

Military

Yonia's army is well known for its clever tactics and use of moderately curved blades known as katana, and the smaller but more nimble wakizashi.

They often employ mages skilled in enhancement magic, and many Adventurers born in Yonia become Orchestras and Prandiums. Each faction contains 9 legions made up of 25 legions of 50 soldiers.

Finally, a subsection of the military known as the Unit exists. Its specifications are unknown, aside from the fact that its made up purely of android-based life similar to that of Nasods.
