Player Character

Isaac Redmane is an eldritch knight, hailing originally from The Badlands, where he was part of a nomadic family of warriors which fought tooth and nail to survive. Born with innate magical talent, but without anyone to teach him properly, his chance to become a wizard never came, and instead he was trained in brutal martial combat by his father. As he grew, his magic began to supplement his martial prowess. When Isaac was 17, his family was wiped out by a band of Snake Cult cultists, with Isaac barely surviving. Wandering into The Sarranid Desert, he was found by a rough and tumble mercenary band, known as Jackals, who took him in as one of their own after seeing his talent. Isaac travelled with these mercenaries until he was 23, when he fell in love with a commoner named Sylvia. Him and Sylvia had a daughter, named Ila, and Isaac gave up his old life to make a new one with his family, settling down in Shariz. When Ila was 9, Sylvia fell ill with the Sun Curse, and eventually succumbed to the illness and died. Isaac raised his daughter as a single father, taking odd jobs where he could to make enough coin for the two of them. Eventually, Ila began showing magical ability, only growing stronger as she got older. Recently enrolled at the Solace Atheneum in Shariz, at the young age of 17, she begun a new life somewhat apart from her aging father. Isaac soon joined the Emris Adventuring Guild in an effort to get out of the house and make friends at his daughter's request, but a part of him still misses his old mercenary life, and is itching to get back out there and into danger. Making quick friends of The Sunsations, Isaac joined their expedition northward. Eager to explore the far reaches of the world, Isaac began a new chapter in his life. During an intense fight with the mist drake, Miavryar, Isaac experienced extreme terror of the colossal dragon after being gravely wounded, damaging his psyche and demeanor drastically.
