Elion

Lord of Hope, Heroes and Friendship
Deity

"I will not forsake any who picks up the blade, in every battle, in every drop of blood I am there with you. I will be your sword when you are weak, your shield when you are hurt- as long as you possess hope for victory and strive to be a hero, even the worst of flaws I shall make shine in our glory."

- Elion in his dying breaths as a Hero

In the distance a voice can be heard through the darkness and in that moment, Elion is there, watching as a soldier pulls a piece of lumber from a collapsed house and pulls a girl to safety. When a swordsman lands a wild blow to secure victory when all his friends rely on him, the traces of a smile can be felt and acknowledging eyes rest on their skin and in times of joy, laughter and camaraderie, a young man sits in the corner raising a silent toast to them all.

Elion was once a hero of humanity, he reached the peak and stood on an even threshold with even the rulers of Ur. His footsteps forged the very foundations for what it means to be a hero today, he carried some of the worlds first legendary items, he named the dragons who'd one day grow into Ancient beings of terror and yet, he smiled all the while. He roamed the earth before the collapse of magic and tried to stop it from happening, he battled back gods and forgotten horrors with his blade, Exilerator and was known as the Black Knight.

Many now hold his symbol above tournaments or pray to him before great battles as it is said he watches over every single one. Elion has stood more times than any other Arisen because any who have even a modicum of worth as a hero are worth time and investment in his eyes. Due to this however the other Arisen look down on him, seeing him as having low standards and very little self respect. He takes pride in guiding heroes however and has a close relationship to Olympus as a fellow mentor of young ones.

As an arisen he is most definitely an oddity, so much of him still seems to have echoes of the humanity he so dearly loves and he's bright, cheerful and eager to help any around him. He is worshiped by many who hold ideals of heroism.

Depiction

Elion takes two forms depending on his mood and who he is talking to. To new and inexperienced people, or when he is particularly happy, he looks like a young man of 19 with barely any facial hair, handsome but boyish features and untidy hair. He carries a shining longsword and wears simple clothing- this is known as Elion of Hope.

To experienced heroes or when he is upset, he becomes older, grizzled and daunting. He stands at 8'11 in his humanoid form and carries his massive black greatsword, Exilirator. On his body is impressive black armor and a long tattered cape, a wild beard and messy long hair sport over his handsome face, marked with the scars of wisdom. This form is known as Elion of Heroes.

Enemies

Elion is not eager to call anyone his enemy, however because he loves humanity dearly, he wrinkles his nose at the mention of the Forsaken and will get in constant arguments with members of the Betrayers and Feud.

Commandments of Elion:

• Strength is not ones steel or blade, but their will to protect others.

• Have fun and find a way to smile, even in the darkest of times.

• Seek your own meaning of being a hero, let no one else define it for you.
