Isle of K'nar

"Not but a cursed Dead City is on that island... not fer nearly a tenner in years now." - Tales From Sailors of The Drift

The Isle of K'nar is an Orphan Island about two days sail northeast of The Drift. Typically speaking none go there as it has been rumored to be cursed or plagued for a decade or more. These superstitions arose from when the entire population of the settlement there disappeared over night, leaving all of their goods and ships behind. A fishing vessel had left the night before and discovered it empty when they returned the next day. Immediately they fled to The Drift to announce what happened and the stories grew ever since.

As for the settlement, K'nari, it is called the Dead City now because of not only the sudden disappearance of the locals, but because long ago it had grown from a simple farming settlement to a large successful city but on the verge of being the first orphan island to be included into the major trade ship routes, it abandoned that goal and began tearing down the city, slowly converting back to farmland. At the time of the disappearance it still contained many ruined remnants from that time as a city.

More recently it would be discovered that a shady group of neogi calling themselves the Rift Syndicate had taken up there and were using it as a secret outpost in the The Merid Sea. For their home was in the far east, in the uncharted Ethereal Expanse.

Another of the islands hidden secrets is that it was gifted a Tat’miqyas ağaci (Timberscale Tree) by the since fallen ancient bronze dragon Alnitak, and that she was the historical Dragonqueen who raised the giff to current cultural level of development long ago but mysteriously disappeared.
