Arden Seawisp
"Eating well on The Merid Sea sometimes requires a bit of improvisation. Luckily it's only taken two cases of food poisoning to make me good at it." - Arden Seawisp, Cook on the Crooked Narwhal
Arden Seawisp is part of the crew of the Crooked Narwhal and acts as the ships cook. He is easy to talk to and friendly to all and loves meeting new people. He keeps a small garden on board to help keep up his supply of herbs and spices. The skill to maintain such plants in such a bizarre location stems from his family. He grew up a fisherman in the Terrasian (Human) City of the Blue Field which lies where the Bay of Sashelas touches the Plains of Airithterra, right near the inlet from The Merid Sea.
His father was a worker for a local noble, and served as groundskeeper and the nobles primary fishmonger, while his mother was a mori'runde from the Qire'taure who had traveled to the City of the Blue Field on official business, but ending up staying for love. It was she who taught him techniques of the wood elves for growing things in harsh conditions, while his father taught him how to prepare and serve fish in what he called "the family tradition".
Fate eventually led him out to sea, where both skills made him valuable to the ships he served on. To date he has sailed with the Crooked Narwhal for three years.
When his crew attempted a doomed rescue of their captain, Arden perished during intorgation by the Rift Syndicate on the Isle of K'nar.
