A mage originaly from Ambehgris, Nezerra left the city and took up residence in the swamplands of the Il’Feotide in pursuit of  solutions to the fungal nuiscances affecting the region. He discovered an insect native to the wetlands popularly known as a Golden Tick which feeds upon a species of beschissenerfliengenstock (as described by Heironymos Hegemon) in it's larval stage prior to it's adult stage where it became an obligate blood parasite feeding on mammals. Theorizing that the larval insects could be trained or magically altered to feed upon other species of fungus, he struck out with a group of assistants to conduct his research in the swamplands away from the disapporoving eyes of Ambehgris and House of the Open Hand.

Hiring guides and hunter's residing in Stilton, and found a naturally occuring cenote in the nearby marshes where a wide range of fungus grew in a subteranean environment. The team built a compound and begun efforts on a breeding program to convert a nuisance insect to a useful livestock. While the breeding program saw initial success with the ticks engaging in a wider array of fungus in their diet, things sprialed out of control. The insects soon grew beyond the ability of the reserach team to control, and mutations began to appear causing the ticks to turn on their captors. 

Nezzera set word to Ambehgris and a band of Brighteners from the House of the Open Hand were dispatched, but were unsuccessful in rescuing the researchers. Nezzera abandoned the compound and by accounts of his friends and colleagues in Stilton, became a hermit in a hot springs area of the swamps where he turned his research towards fire magic, seemingly convinced it was the only remedy against the nightmarish ticks he created and the fungal threats of the region.

Nezzera keeps the company of a smoke mephit familiar named Boyle.
