Quest

Abreau Maneision has inherited a small cabin in the woods from his uncle Gus. The condition is that Abreau spends five nights in a row in the cabin without leaving. The cabin is located a few miles west of Conyberry, in the Neverwinter Woods. Abreau, being one of the greatest wizard could totally do this himself. He thought it would be more fun to have friends come along, so he decided to hire adventurers of the Hawthorne Guild to keep him company. He plans to play games all night and is absolutely certain that nothing will go wrong.

Summary
The group met at the Hawthorne Guild Tavern and introduced themselves. Later on, Abreau Maneision joined them and explained the details of the ''mission''; they must stay five nights in the cabin in the Neverwinter Wood he has inherited from his uncle Gus Maneision . If Abreau succeeds, he will be inheriting from a part of his uncle's fortune as well. Abreau has hired the adventurers so that he could have company during these five days.

During the first day, Khedon noticed Abreau was looking for a note from his uncle, and found it for him, but was also able to read it. It seemed like the cabin was haunted. Terrified, but pretending not to be, Abreau Maneision didn't share this information to the group, fearing that they would be scared and leave. Unbeknownst to Abreau Maneision, Khedon had been able to see what was written on the note and shared the information to the party. They later confronted Abreau Maneision about it, who ended up admitting that his uncle said the house was haunted. The group decided to stay with Abreau Maneision and help him get through these five nights. Around noon, they heard screeches coming from further away in the woods and went to investigate.

After a five minute walk in the wood, the party discovered those responsible for the scream: a pair of owlbears that had  just killed a deer and were eating it. The party defeated the owlbears, and after investigating the area, discovered these owlbears had previously likely been attempting to reach a body that was hanging from a tree, but was a bit high for them to get, then tracking a deer and killing it instead.

The party took the body down and assessed that it had been there for less than a week. On the body was a Tarokka card: the Executioner. Abreau Maneision mentioned to the party he saw another body before with a similar card on it and that a member of the guild called Raymin had it in its possession. (See The Tarokka Killer)

Afterwards, the party returned to the cabin and played a few games. During the night, on Talos's watch, the air grew cold, the flames of the fire and candles were extinguished and the windows shattered, waking everyone up. The door, although locked, opened violently, books as well as various objects were thrown around in the cabin and a disembodied voice warned the party they weren't welcome here and that they should leave by the next day or else...

During this event, Khedon was hit by a small book which fell open at his feet on a page that talked about the The Ghost of Conyberry. (See link to read the note.)

After reading this note, the party thought perhaps it would be good to talk to the ghost and attempt to pacify  her. The next day, they went and sought Agatha's lair. With the indications on the note, they were able to find the path described rather easily and found her lair. At first, she wasn't keen on having them there, but since they showed no intent to harm her, she decided to hear them out. She agreed to stop haunting Abreau's cabin if they agreed to help her. She learned a necromancer has been trying to find a way to enslave her, and she would like for them to stop his work. If they can manage to do so, she would agree to leave them alone while they are in the area.

The group agreed to help Agatha and went to the ruins of Conyberry. Upon investigating the ruins, the party found a hidden cellar door that went underneath the ground. This led them to a lair which contained undead creatures. They defeated the creatures, then battled and defeated the mage that was safekeeping the area. Upon investigating the location, they found the notes the necromancer had on his ritual and took them. They also figured out the mage was not in fact the necromancer, but some sort of assistant and that the necromancer was meant to be away for months. Odom left a note with the following on the body of the apprentice: ''Terruk Odom, Hawthorne Guild.'' They brought the notes back to Agatha and she had the party destroy them. Although the necromancer is still alive, Agatha believes the group did the most they could do for her in the situation and that they may have slowed the necromancer down in his work. In exchange for this, she agreed to do her part of the deal, and didn't bother them during their stay in the cabin. She also warned them against attempting to steal her treasure, and added that she could potentially assist them if they sought knowledge and brought her a gift in exchange. After the conversation, the party returned at the cabin.

The remainder of the party's time at the cabin was rather quiet, almost boring. In order to entertain themselves, they decided to form a music band. They named themselves DK and the Whippets and created their first song ''Whip it Real Good.''
