Completed
Guild Mission

The party arrives in Skaug and elects to go to The Keelhaul. There, the party members who can understand Thieves Cant overhear people talking about something suspicious. Rickard decides to go discuss with them and learns they are planning revenge on some Halfling who tricked them and stole from them in Athkatla, the City of Coin. Their plan includes taking back what they lost and killing the Halfling. Rickard convinces them to devise a different plan that does not include killing anyone, but instead to retake their things and even maybe steal more from them. He also gives them contact names to assist them in their task. They agree to follow Rickard's plan. Rickard probably saved a few lives that day. Then, Rickard goes on to ask about the Hand of Umberlee. The thieves don't know anything about it, but indicates there might be a lady who hangs out at The Apple Barrel.

They met a lady they later learned was named Fleur de Lys. She acted as if she recognized Kingswell and was expecting him. She told them her ''master'' could help them if they were willing to make a deal with him. She later met with Rex Underhand and Ivinka in private and hinted strongly that she was a part of the Kraken Society and that they had the same ''master''. Rex understood pretty quickly, but Ivinka was a bit confused since she is unaware that Slarkrethelis the one giving her some of her powers. During that meeting, she offered a gift and asked that in exchange they would put in a good word for her ''master'' and although she was not asking to force Kingswell Cooper to accept, she wanted them to influence Kingswell's decision to accept if necessary. Rex can't help, but notice she is trying to give herself some air of importance to them. During that private meeting, Sorrel turned himself invisible and listened in while Kingswell Cooper and Rickard went for drinks and shared personal stories.

During the night, Kingswell Cooper has a dream where he sees a representation of Slarkrethel who speaks to him telepathically and offers him a deal.

''Kingswell Cooper, son of John and Stella Cooper, devout follower of Umberlee, The Queen of the Depths.

I am Slarkrethel, Chosen of Umberlee and I have an offer for you.

I shall assist you with your task and provide the information you need to complete it.

I shall grant you and your friends treasures never seen before.
I shall grant you the powers from the deep for as long as you continue to serve me.

And perhaps, if you do so long enough,  a new vessel to navigate the seas.

In return, I demand that you serve me.

I demand that you gather and relay information from the places where you adventure to my organization, the Kraken Society.

And I demand that you relay to me - the activities of the Hawthorne Guild.

What do you say, Captain Kingswell Cooper?''

Kingswell promptly accepted the pact without hesitation after hearing about the possibility of one day getting a ship once again. The next day, Fleur de Lys came back with a chest containing items and a letter. While she was talking to the party, Sorrel stole a pouch containing sea shells from her. Fleur de Lys then left the party and returned to her usual business. The party reads the letter The Ghost in the Fog and decide to wait for the end of day to meet this ''ghost in the fog''.

While waiting for the day to pass by, the party spends some time eating ice cream and doing team building exercises. Sorrel starts asking personal questions to Kingswell who attempts to dodge the questions by eating more ice cream. By the end of the day, Kingswell has eaten so much ice cream the party doesn't know how he has managed not to get sick.
