The Forest of Cormanthor, Part 2

- Members of the Lerwick Roses and their allies within the guild took a tenday to conduct extensive research into disturbances of the Weave, the history of Myth Drannor, the Shadowfell, and the corruption of forests in preparation for another expedition into Cormanthor. - Once the party had gathered themselves, they made their way back to Semberholme. They elected to head towards Myth Drannor, to investigate further into the origins of the forest corruption. As they made their way there, they noticed that past the river they had to cross, they could begin to see more and more of the forest’s corruption. - When the party camped for the night, they were set upon by some kind of winged nightshade that seemed to use shadow and magic to its full advantage, nearly slaying Loric, though it was eventually driven off. Loric recognized it to be a creature of the Shadowfell, similar in nature to the ones Leila had seen earlier. - As the party continued towards Myth Drannor, they encountered more and more fragments of Thultanthar, and the land grew more and more corrupted. - They encountered one such fragment that seemed like a half-broken piece of a tower. As the party entered the tower, the interior was darkened, and Vanessa lit her light as they were entering. The party found themselves not within a ruined structure, but what seemed like a perfectly intact tower instead. Looking outside, they could see aspects of the forest they had left behind, but as Loric surmised, the party had walked through a shadow crossing—and Vanessa had accidentally destroyed it.
