Moonspeakers are figures that act as a mix between a diplomat and religious/spiritual guide within Shifter tribes in The Great Steppe, and are often druids or nature clerics. With a society as fragmented as the clans in the Steppe, Moonspeakers often travel between these communities, maintaining a channel of communication between the tribes, and providing a feeling of belonging to a larger group, maintaining their racial bond.

Moonspeakers are very rare individuals, as shifters often keep to their own clans, and are as much born as made. Appearing once every few generations, other Moonspeakers traveling with the tribe usually recognize the traits required for a shifter to become a Moonspeaker when they reach adulthood (around 10 years-old), and they're trained in their secret religious and magical ways during the following score (20 year period), after which, they become a fully-fledged member.

Fully-fledged individuals are blessed with a long lifespan (between 4 and 10 times more longevous than the average shifter, who lives for 60 years), and there usually exist around a dozen Moonspeakers at a time.
