Aboriginal Bannerets in the Dark Ages

Socio-Military Class

Banneret traditions changed radically into a more recognisable form following the Ferozen Invasion and the subsequent destruction of eastern Aboriginal civilisation. Iron spears and curved swords became the weapons of mounted bannerets, as well as the recurve bow, with which they were arguably the most proficient. The best cavalrymen amongst the Aboriginals were undoubtedly desert nomads, from whom the bannerets inherited much in terms of mysticism, cultural beliefs, martial arts, tactics, and of course, riding. However, these men found their match in their battlefield in the way of Ferozen Warlords armed with the infamous Ferozen Longbow, against which banneret cavalrymen had to be extremely cautious. Over hundreds of years the influence of Oceanyka's outback nomads waned within these professional soldiers, giving way to Malay, Indian and East Asian influences within Aboriginal Bannerets in the Middle Ages.
