Session 130 - 25 July 2023 - How to catch a ram

Three sisters who protect and maintain the island of the Golden Heart. 

The oldest beings in Thylea’s history.

• Galatea - mountain

Take what your heart wants and not worry about what you mind asks for. The crew have been invited because they came with honest intentions.

Goals:

• Capture the smug golden fleece sheep

• Crew to relax and have fun on the shores

• Then we should join together and go to the island’s heart (through the tree roots and into the sanctum of the island)

Theo and Pholon promised to return to the boat to let the crew know they were able to join them on the beach. Theo joked that he would tell them the forest was haunted. They both walked off to the boat and left Xan and Kyrah to their path out of the waves.

As they left the water Kyrah said she would retrace the steps she took racing Pholon and enjoy the fruits the island has to offer. On the mention of fruit Xan felt her stomach rumble. Xan headed up past the tree line, grabbing a golden apple on her way. She remembered they agreed they would meet by the largest tree so headed into this direction.

When they met Xan told them about the conversations with Ife, and they in turn shared their meetings with the sisters. They decide to track down the ram, and between them they figure out a plan to lead it to their trap. Xan set a snare trap while the others prepared other elements of the trap, finding the ram and making sure it would run into their plan.

As they prepared Xan helped others to hide in the surrounding area so when the ram approached, it didn’t find them and was drawn into the steep mountain peak and trapped by the snare.

It approaches the trap but at the last second steps aside into the thin air. It is more magical than thought.

They speak, for a few minutes. Holding him in the air.

On a technicality they have caught the ram in a conversation. Xan sits on the ground while Alke continues to speak to the magical ram. After he agrees to give them the fleece he continues to speak with Alke, telling her about the fun challenge he offers Galatea in not being able to catch him. He offers the fleece to show that he can be caught, just not by her.

Alke asks who caught the ram last. A quick woman. At least 500 years ago. She enjoyed the chase, and catching her was the end. She was not about endings. The ram comments that 500 years is not a long time to him, but Alke reminds him it is to the rest of them. 

Chrysomallus, he names himself finally to Alke as he departs.

Xan collected the fleece and passed it to Alke to carry down the mountain.

On the way back to the heart of the island Xan shows them the lavender pearl she got from Ife. When they approach the roots of the tree they see a soft golden glow emanating from between them. Xan begins to walk in to meet with the sisters.

The floor is stone under its roots, and then tiles concentric from the centre. Small and palm sized with symbols all over them - none of which Xan recognises. Hipofiluis seems to ie them more regard as if he did recognise some of the images. It contains two huge thrones, for people at least 20ft tall, and smaller human sized thrones between them.

From a nook in the back of the room the sisters come out, holding hands. Xan bows almost without thinking to the magical beings. Ife smiled sweetly. They allow Hipofilius to take a small piece of the land, a small bottle of sand and a small seedling from the island.

Hipofilius says that this night would be a celebration for them, and they would welcome them to join them. The sister decline and say they would watch from afar. 

Braz asks them how much they know of The Fates. They seem to only know them of their ill intentions but they have never been welcomed to the island.

The sisters give them what feels like a conversation to end their visit.

“It does not need to be long to be meaningful. Most days nothing happens but I think I will remember this one”

They gave them 3 x single Nymph hair as a gift.
