A blade said to have been forged directly from muck and filth, shaped into a weapon of great power by Gulchax himself.

Sick Old Bastard is a magic greatsword blessed with the power of the god Gulchax. It is a +2 greatsword that requires attunement to use.

A long, thick blade that gleams with a sickly green light. The blade seems to be perpetually moistened and occasionally drips a foul, brown substance. The guard of the blade is rusted and uneven, with a frayed leather handle and faded diamond jewel in the pommel.

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

The sword has 9 charges for the following properties. The mace regains 1d8+1 charges daily at dawn. If you expend the last charge, the sword will expel a great amount of filth, completely coating its wielder.

Rustcut. At the cost of one charge after a successful attack, you push fetid fluid into your opponent, prompting a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the creature takes 1d12 poison damage and contracts a disease that will tense their muscles after 10 rounds, rendering them paralyzed for one hour.

Cloud of Tears. At the cost of 3 charges as an action on your turn, you may expel thick gas in a 20 foot radius, prompting a DC 15 Constitution saving throw from each creature within. On a failure, a creature is blinded until it takes an action to clear its eyes.

Foul Flood. At the cost of 5 charges as an action on your turn, you turn the ground beneath you in a 30 foot square into thick sewage (difficult terrain) for 1 minute. Any creatures that go prone in the filth must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, becoming poisoned on a failed save.

According to legend, Sick Old Bastard was forged by the god Gulchax himself, but some scholars dismiss this as a tall tale. Regardless, the sword at the very least carries a powerful blessing of Gulchax, and was likely enchanted during the Broken Age.

The sword found its way into the hands of Oressa Halight in the 900s of Iron and Chains, and was eventually left in a guarded magical chest in the Splintering Halls. Apparently, the witch Oressa was not terribly fond of the man who wielded it prior, and shut the relic away in order to ensure it would not be held against her again.

In 989 IaC, a group of adventurers known as the Cursebusters broke out of the Splintering Halls and liberated the sword. The warlock Ilryn Dewsong briefly used the sword before offering it in trade to her patron Avra in exchange for their own relic, the Nepoznato.
