The Face of Tira

Natural Feature

While Thrane is dotted with local landmarks devoted to the heroes and saints of the Church of the Silver Flame, none have the grandiose scale of the Face of Tira. Commissioned in 734 YK by King Thaldren IV, the famed sculptor Helgar Lezirani etched an 80-foot-tall version of Tira’s face into a rocky outcropping, easily visible from the trade route that connects Flamekeep and Danthaven. The monument has become a popular site of pilgrimage as well as an artistic attraction.

Statues, shrines, and other sacred sites speckle the countryside of Thrane, holy ground for the people to send their prayers to the Silver Flame. Though each is impressive in its own way, none compares to the Face of Tira. Sculpted from a rocky crag atop a massive stone outcropping west of Flamekeep, it bears the likeness of the famed Voice of the Flame in 80-foot-tall splendor. Her eyes peer eastward, her gaze resting on the site where the Silver Flame was born.

In 734 YK, King Thaldren IV commissioned a famous sculptor named Helgar Lezirani to carve Tira Miron’s face into a rocky crag looking south toward the Tamor Hills, where the Silver Flame was born. This 80-foot-high stone face is chiseled into the top of a 250-foot-high, 200-foot-wide outcropping of bare rock. It can be seen from the nearby trade road and lies roughly 80 miles east of Danthaven and 80 miles west of Flamekeep.

Pilgrims traveling along the nearby road typically stop to offer a prayer to Tira. Any worshiper of the Silver Flame who does this gains a +1 insight bonus on skill checks for the next 24 hours.
