From the outside the tower looks like all the others at Bond Tower but inside it is quickly apparent that the power of the technical office is on full display. They claim these displays re-enforce how dangerous the power of technology would be if it wasn't highly regulated by a benevolent authority such as The Society of the Bond. The entrance corridors that lead off from several doors to the outside are a whirl of lights and illuminated terminals, dashboards and displays, in a world where energy is scarce this is a memersing and humbling sight to most travellers of The Kingdom.
One of the greatest and best known functions of the Technical Tower is to run the Network. Like a highly regulated version of the internet, the computers that host this network are all stored and updated here. Access to post things on the Network belongs only to the Bond and the scribe appointed by each of the Houses. Common people must petition their relevant Scribe if they wish to advertise, spread news or make an announcement. The Scribes of The Society of the Bond in this tower have a good deal of status. They also have a good deal of responsibility as they are held accountable if any of the announcements of the society are wrong or faulty on points of theology or law. As a result those in The Theological Tower are often consulted via the phone system, also operated from these floors, that connects the towers and the whole citadel with the outside world. They also have a fleet of maintenance men, members of the society of lower status you travel The Kingdom maintaining the wires that at times above and at others below ground. Some of these cables have recently been sabotaged by radicals from the Barony of Twain.
On the floors above the those dedicated to the Network are those dedicated to the study, design and creation of military tech. These include firing ranges and rooms given over as testing halls where the latest kit whether it flamethrower swords or spear wielding drones. The urgency of innovation has decreased since the last war ended. Today little fresh tech is mass produced although research is said to continue at pace.
The higher floors are given over to all kinds of other labs focusing on various, gadgets, gizmos and computer hardware research. It is said that the computing power the society has at it's disposal is said to be phenomenal. However, they regard themselves as the guardians of this knowledge, not committed to promoting it but to controlling it and limiting its influence.
