Power Source

Shadow classes use dark powers drawn from Khyber. Mechanically they care about dead and bloodied creatures.

Level 4 Feats

Dead Drop

Benefits: Whenever you roll an 18-20 on an attack against an enemy that has not yet acted in combat, that attack critically hits.

Benefits: You gain the Death's Veil power

Level 4 Invocation

Shadow

Action: Minor
Special: You must be afflicted to use this power.
Range: Personal

Effect: You expend a healing surge (and do not heal). Enemies attacking you have disadvantage until the end of the next round.

Feeding Frenzy

Benefits: Whenever you bloody an enemy or reduce one to 0 hit points or fewer you gain edge on attack rolls until the end of the next round.

Ghoulish Rejuvenation

Benefits: Whenever you bloody an enemy or reduce one to 0 hit points or fewer you may expend a healing surge as a free action to regain hit points equal to your healing surge value.

Grievous Wounds

Benefits: Whenever you hit an enemy that enemy cannot regain hit points or gain temporary hit points until the end of the next round.

Peer Into the Void

Benefits: You gain improved darkvision out to 120', giving you full color vision for the full distance. When you first encounter a magical darkness effect you make an Arcana check. If you beat the Arcana check made for the magical darkness it doesn't obstruct your vision.

Shadow Restoration

Benefits: Whenever you expend a healing surge for any reason you may make a saving throw against one effect currently afflicting you that a save can end.

System Shock

Benefits: Whenever you apply a (save ends) effect to an enemy that has not yet acted in combat, that enemy has disadvantage on saving throws against that effect.

Unnatural Energy

Benefits: You gain the Unnatural Energy power

Unnatural Energy

You draw energy from an opponent's soul to move on to your next target

Level 4 Invocation

Shadow

Action: Free Reaction (Trigger: You bloody an enemy or reduce them to 0 or fewer hit points)
Special: You must be afflicted to use this power. You can only use this power once per round.
Range: Personal

Effect: You expend a healing surge (without healing) to immediately take a bonus standard action

Walk the Shadowed Path

Benefits: While you are in dim light or darkness your speed increases by 10'.

Umbra

Umbra

As a shadow character you are constantly balancing the power provided by dark forces against the chance they overwhelm you. Your powers can add or subtract stacks of umbra. Whenever you hit 12 stacks, you become Afflicted and cannot use recharge powers until you return to 0 stacks. Whenever you take a short or long rest you return to zero stacks of umbra.
