Fortune's Vanguard resumed exploring the strange readings in the vault. After a little more deliberation, Ripley decided to begin by pressing one of the buttons, causing the stone dais to shift. Without being able to really discover anything more, the party decided to rest and awoke with new powers. With this, Woodsworth was able to undo the memory enchantment placed on Xael restoring his memory. He then tried to contact the boat with a sending, but found the spell to fail. After checking with Ripley, both discovered that their communication devices with the Foundation were failing.
Exiting the vault and exploring out of the facility, it was discovered that the facility has some sort of shield effect blocking communication. They were able to reconnect and establish contact with the boat, confirming that the rain had stopped but the winds had picked up instead. From there, it was decided to explore deeper into the vault. A strange room with 4 stone statues and one larger statues were seen inside. The party decided to intermediately retreat and fall back. After spending the rest of the day resting and preparing, the party then headed in further to explore the room.
Looking at the statues, the party determined that they were some kind of trap, that appeared very dangerous, possibly from outside this reality. And that the shard contained within was tied to a single concept, "Isolation". It was decided that J'ack would sneak ahead with Xael close behind and try to disable it. Unfortunately, as J'ack snuck forward, the statues turned and blasted Xael, Ripley, J'ack, and Milu with a green beam. Ripley and J'ack then turned to stone, causing the party to retreat again.
The party rested and Woodsworth was able to undo the spell on the party. From there, it was decided to leave the inner vault alone for now, and explore the containment area. There, they discovered that a wall of force was present, along with a teleportation circle and a statue similar to the meat facility. The party assumed that this place was likely tied to the containing facility, and that the source of the angry meatball may have been from this location. With that in mind, the party decided to head to research , preparing for whatever might be present.
