You wake on the last day of the Middenheim Carnival. You head downstairs for breakfast and to discuss plans for the day.

Thrumir Bhakdram has been thinking about Dieter Schmiedenhammer's situation and suggest maybe he has been hypnotised. You decide to take Dieter drinking and get him to a hypnotist.

Dieter isn't at his house so you try Rallane Lafarel who lives at the palace. You are able to use your small silver medal to convince the guards to let you in. You find that Rallane and Dieter have ben out drinking the night before and are both a bit hungover. Dieter initially has doubts about the wisdom of more beer, but remarkably, you are able to convince him by reminding him of your friendship.

You head for the Marktweg and a few drinks in a bar there. You then head to the tent of 'Dr Waldo Zeggesmund' who agrees to hypnotise Dieter and see if he is under any hypnotic influence.

Dr Waldo puts Dieter under and is able to confirm that he has been hypnotised. When asked how he feels about the taxes, Dieter replies that he thinks they are a terrible thing for the city, in particular for its safety.

You ask where and who he was hypnotised by. He tells you it happened at The Showboat and a woman called Charlotte did it. You ask Dr Waldo to remove the hypnosis, thinking that he will then be able to speak freely. Unfortunately, Dieter now remembers nothing and you hadn't asked some of the more important questions.

After asking Dieter some more questions and deciding your investigations have hit a brick wall, you go back to the Templar's Arms to prepare for the Black Pool Illuminations.

Before midnight, you head to the Gardens. The Illuminations are spectacular, a mix of magical and chemical fireworks fill the sky. You get caught up in the spectacle like the rest of the crowd and before you know it, the Illuminations are over.

You head back to bed, setting a close watch
