Session 61: Rip and Tear

Session
The story so far 2022-12-17

After Devinn awoke from his sudden dream, it was clear things were not alright. As the party made their way to their living quarters, for the time being, they attempted to help Devinn process his newfound trauma after the revelation of his chosen deities' past. Meanwhile, Arkorow went to the infirmary and was found to have lice along with Nafir. It was then also revealed that Arkorow would be growing wings in the near future; a painful and bloody affair.

The party then made their way to the study hall so that Devinn might have a place to attempt to contact Murk for answers, and so that the party could discuss what to do with the new information they now had. During his conversation with Murk, it was revealed that while Murk did claim to remember everyone that had been sacrificed in their own pursuits, she believed that they were all worth it. In attempting to pry into more info about Yebraztos, Devinn found himself at Murk’s ire; being informed that his life was only safe due to his connection to Yebraztos’ soul. While attempting to console Devinn the party was rudely ushered out of the study rooms by a nosy liberal arts major.

The party made their way to the druidic district for some supplies where Drazvik ran into an old friend; a striking wood elf and mentor named Vanis. Vanis informed Draz about an experiment the scholars at the Hamlet School of Arcane Learning were planning to attempt. The experiment itself involved some strange ritual as well as an accursed mirror shard and a frame with eldritch writing on it. Draz's acquaintance requested the party's aid in resolving the matter diplomatically; offering a faster form of travel in exchange.

The party spent some time shopping for supplies before heading back to their room at the school to rest for the night. The mood was less than pleasant but the intrepid adventurers bonded over shared and personal trauma as well as a riveting tale about a kraken told by Mordus. Draz, Mordus, and Arkorow each had their own dreams that night; pertaining to their past, present, and future. These dreams - or more nightmares in some cases - were interrupted as a burning smell took over. A pattern of leaves burned itself into Arkorow’s head before his scalp erupted in a mane of forest green strands, and his back ripped open in a shower of blood and pain as two wings sprouted from his shoulder blades; just in time for breakfast.
