Session 30: Getting the Gang Together

Session
The story so far 2021-11-13

After the bad dream of Morgan kidnapping Arepo, the party awoke on the 8th of Suntide. Even the weather seemed ominous as the group gathered in the common room trying to make sense of the dream. After a brief discussion, it was settled that the party needs to help Arepo, but they need aid.

Devinn and Zephyr decided to visit the Onyx Temple and ask for guidance there. At the temple, they found Elo the Healer and explained the situation to her. She immediately got worried. Remembering the Manual of Withertide Survival the group got from the paint golem, Devinn sought out a priestess of Thrizur and offered the book for the promise of aid. Elo and the priestess of Thrizur, Acri Hush, gave them scrolls of revivify, protection from evil and good, and wind wall.

Then Zephyr got the great idea of asking the Red Blossoms, his thieves' guild, for help and took Devinn to some creepy basement to meet with them, their location is hidden under a tile in the Onyx Temple. After some back and forth with Ren Ulk, they offered to help and secure a boat for the group. Once outside Devinn sought guidance from Murk; he got the direct message, "Save the kid," while Zephyr visited the Veilmanor; along with Vys Don-Kilis, they cremated a deceased individual, and the songbird of discord was restored. Zephyr was told that the birdcage is one of a kind and somehow tied to Veil, the lady of death and madness.

Meanwhile, Mordus tagged along but split off at the Temple and headed inside the Marble Temple to speak with Morbor of Teccushtar. He found him upstairs, without pants, probably after a shower. Mordus quite chaotically explained the whole situation and Morbor got really worried and took Mordus to see a certain Lady Uriwyn.

Lady Uriwyn is a dragonborn with a slim figure and topaz-like scales, her soft voice projected right into Mordus' head. He explained the whole situation again, very poorly and with a good amount of fucks flying. Uriwyn then asked him if she can speak plainly and Mordus got hazy for a moment. When he recovered, there was Lady Uriwyn in her dragon form with brilliant topaz scales. They discussed the situation some more and Uriwyn told a story about the gods and liches from the past before the continent now known as Havilon was lost. There were several liches that could rival the gods in power. They could not be destroyed, so the dark gods sealed them away hopefully for all eternity.

Lady Uriwyn urged Mordus to do as Murk asks promising that Murk would never send them to their deaths as she is a healer. She pledged to do whatever she could to aid the group and Mordus asked for snacks and mentioned that Morbor was missing his pants, which Uriwyn pointed out were in the corner of her room on the ground.

In the meantime, Arkorow felt like a total fuck up and cried for a while before leaving for Blood of the Bulette to do some shopping and preparations for our journey. After recharging the Crown of Bygone Sons at the cherry blossom glade to Arepo, he then decided it was time to contact Teztudamé, the ancient green dragon, using the paper bird the party found in Thyr Morgan. He follows the flying letter to the Marble Temple where he runs into Morbor of Teccushtar who reluctantly let him into the chambers of Teztudamé.

Arkorow and Teztudamé talk for a while. She claims that the new gods are fuck-ups and the world should let them die; that the gods are a pitiful bunch that could not deal with the liches properly so they resorted to extreme measures of some plan that killed just everyone on the continent of Havilon; that for people elsewhere to survive, the people on Havilon had to be sacrificed. Worst of all, Morgan was the weakest of the liches, and a trickster, and he would make his lair somewhere hidden and inconspicuous. In return for her talking to him, Arkorow would have to do anything that she asks when the time comes.

After the search for aid, the party meets back at KB&S ready to discuss the next steps. Asking Alex Shaw if the Company could provide some help, he panics and calls Julienne Smidt. Kane and Smidt appear moments later reminiscing about the good old days when they fought a lich as well. It was decided that two groups should go; the party along with Loreno Estevan, Betty Morshar, Zender Stormwood, and Primrose, and as backup (or to observe) much of the remaining company, including all remaining sidekicks and Kane, Boole, and Smidt themselves.

The next morning on the 9th of Suntide, everyone packs their things and the party is informed that some Groon kid is here to see them. Julian Groon, champion of Veil, comes to join the efforts along with a champion of Anvil, Pertoir d'Juglar. In front of the building awaited two near-dead, pale, skinny horses with chariots. The party along with Betty, Primrose, Loreno, and Stormwood fly from Capital on the chariots while the backup (including Groon and d'Juglar) go to the docks and leave on a boat commandeered by Ren Ulk, disguised as 'Ren Blackshaft'.
