The M48 Patton is an American first-generation main battle tank, and the latest "main line" model of the first Patton tank family, which includes the M46 and M47. Though appearing too late for the Korean War, the M48 has distinguished itself fighting in the Vietnam War. The tank features an advanced fire control system, the first of its kind on an armoured vehicle, and a remote-controlled .50 BMG heavy machinegun.

Operation REFORGER
American forces must always be ready to defend Europe from a renewed Soviet invasion. Operation REFORGER aims to rapidly re-establish a number of heavy divisions in this continent using heavy equipment stored in depots, only airlifting tank crews from America. Although the Soviets are expected to use massed fires and manoeuvre to break NATO's back, the Patton tanks must hold at any cost and make time for reinforcements. When this unit has not moved or turned for a Short Duration, and until it does, add an Easy DM to its hit rolls.

Jungle Fighter
The M48 Patton distinguished itself in the highland jungles of Vietnam, where it faced enormous challenges against irregular forces armed with the world's first compact ATGMs. When targeting enemies in Jungles and Forests, ignore their Tactical Cover.
