The S-75 "Dvina" is a Soviet surface-to-air missile (SAM) which saw heavy use during the Cold War. Introduced in 1957, it quickly displaced heavy calibre anti-air artillery as the main weapon within the Soviet Army for intercepting high-altitude enemy aircraft. Dvina missile systems are increasingly proliferating within the Soviet sphere; this allows even backwards countries such as North Vietnam or Oceanyka to challenge a world-class air force.
