The Bell UH-1 Iroquois (nicknamed by troops as the Huey" is an American utility helicopter developed by the Bell Helicopter Company. It has achieved unprecedented fame as the aerial transport of choice of American forces in the Vietnam War, its image becoming synonymous with the conflict itself. The most common variant is the UH-1D, powered by a Lycoming T53-L-11 engine and featuring a stretched body, perfect as a troop transport. It can be fit with a wide variety of ordnance, which can be anything from machineguns, rockets, missiles, autocannons and even bombs. The side gunners have access to an array of machineguns and autocannons for the turret mount. Oceanykan airmen consider the art of flying rotary wing aircraft as a novel, yet promising venture, and its statelets recognise the value of being able to put light troops in any position within minutes (without the need for paratrooper training). In particular the Republic of Sydney makes heavy use of imported UH-1 helicopters, making up the organic transport vehicle of its S.D.F. Airmobile Commando Regiment.
