Krystoff Spirfierd

Paladin
Player Character

Krystoff was a male Human born to middle class merchants in Absalom on Fireday, 11th of Lamashan, 4685 AR.

Krystoff had a relatively normal childhood, helping his parents at home or with basic chores involving their business, as well as playing on the streets of the Coins district with his friends and siblings.

Like many young children, Krystoff loved hearing stories of brave heroes and adventures.
One of the most impactful moments of his young life was in year 4692 AR. As the Fourth Mendevian Crusade began, Krystoff watched as battalions of Iomedan Crusaders marched out of the city to confront the Demonic hordes of the Worldwound

With his parent's approval, he eventually joined the Church of Iomedae for training as a Champion.

As years passed and Krystoff gained the title of Paladin, his comrades and friends went on active duty. Many of them being sent off, fighting and dying in the crusades that first inspired him to join the order.
Krystoff's superiors often told him he was not ready for active duty. And even though he felt more than ready, he knew better than to question his superiors.

In 4707 AR, when he was 21, the fourth Mendevian Crusade ended. Causing in Krystoff some survivor's guilt from all his brothers and sisters who had died in active duty.
He was ordered to stay at the temple in Absalom as an assistant trainer.

Years passed, and Krystoff helped train many knights for active duty.

In 4713 AR, the Fifth Mendevian Crusade started, when the city of Kenabres was all but destroyed by a hoard of demons led by the Balor Khorramzdeh. Once again, his request to join the fight was denied. When the crusade ended in 4718, his guilt grew. This time, many of the young men and women he saw grow from teenagers to gallant knights had perished as he sat idly on the other side of the world.

One year later, when The Whispering Tyrant Tar-Baphon marched towards Absalom with his army of undead, Krystoff was charged with staying in the Temple and help with the evacuation of the recruits were the undead to break through the city's defenses.

As a group of adventurers sacrificed themselves to trick the Whispering Tyrant into destroy himself and his armies before they breached the city, Krystoff was once again left providing no service to his order or the people he swore to protect.

The same night after the Tyrant's invasion was thwarted, Krystoff had dreams of Iomedae, her Angelical servitors and endless flames. Only one word was spoken "Breachill".

When he woke, he researched the word, and found that Breachill was the name of a small town in Isger, near the border with Druma

Considering this a divine mission. Krystoff packed his things, and more than request permission, informed the Church's clergy that he would be going.
Resistant at first, the Priests of Iomedae eventually allowed Krystoff to finally go out into the world to answer his call.
After visiting his family to bid them farewell, he boarded a ship to Almas, leaving his hometown of Absalom for the very first time.
