Children of Many Visions (or Dreams, or Sights) is a hive of intelligent bees that lives in a grove close to Meridian. The hive consists of Giant Bees, normal-sized ones, and everything in-between. Their leader seems to be an Eeko, who is also their main speaker (though it uses sign language and understands spoken Sylvan). They are in good relations with Lamaia the Shepherdess.

Eekos are squat living bushes that grow around a primordial golden beehive from the Fey realms. Many mistake them for Leshies; however, the plant matter itself is not an Eeko - the honeycomb 'heart' and its constituent bees are the real animating force of this usually benevolent Fey. These golden cores are the essence of life itself; even one can provide enough delicious nourishment for 30 Medium creatures for a day.

Eekos prefer to live in forest groves and sun-dappled woodlands, where they mingle with other Fey and occasionally help guide wayward travelers and animals, only attacking if they or their home are threatened. To Eekos, nature is sacred, and most see themselves as stewards of the natural cycles of birth and death, feast and famine, renewal and decay. Most Eekos are brave in a fight, sometimes recklessly so, and see adventure around every trunk. Arboreals tend to be too plodding or methodical to sustain an Eeko's attention, though the two creatures gladly work together to defend their shared homes from invaders.

Although they harbour no love for Humans or other ancestries that often despoil wilderness in the name of 'civilisation', Eekos enjoy the company of Druids and Wortwitches, especially vagabonds with stories of far-off places and unusual animals. Eekos cannot speak themselves, but they love the many sounds that voices can make, and they are happy to offer aid in exchange for stories and songs - even bad ones.

Children of Many Visions were encountered during the quest Taste the Rainbow, when Saorie, Mesper, Scrambles and Ishka'tar stumbled upon their hive.

The Children were experiencing sudden discord in their decisions and actions, but with the party's help, the wayward swarm members were slain.

Mindfuddle Blooms

The Children gather hallucinogenic pollen of nearby flowers, the Mindfuddle Blooms, which can be found in the Old World, but this strain is uniquely distinct - probably a separate lineage that evolved differently. The pollen's mind-altering effects include distorted visuals, a mild sense of euphoria, and confusion

The Children refine this pollen into delicious, healing honey that retains some of the pollen's properties, though to a much lesser extent. This honey was needed by Heidrun for Midday Meal Mayhem event happening in Meridian.

Some of these flowers were corrupted (causing the aforementioned discord in the hive) by a divine Blight ritual conducted by an Extraplanar creature (according to Heidrun the Herbalist), and needed to be cut out and burnt. The party did so, but they couldn't remove all the flowers, so this remains an ongoing problem.

The corrupted flowers smell differently, almost as if they are rotten, though outwardly they show no signs of infection. Once uprooted, their ryzomes are much smaller than those of the unaffected flowers. Some kind of sickness is affecting them, withering their roots and making their scent nauseating and foul.

GM Notes

Meridian

- Children of Many Visions are originally from the lands of the Coalition. They were tended to by Rigatoni, who brought them to Meridian when he retired there.

- Their hive is facing internal conflicts and moments of discord. This was partially caused by the Meladaemon, who infected and changed them by a divine Blight ritual, and partially by Deep Lore.

Deep Lore Notes

Meridian

- The Children of Many Visions, after being disturbed by the Meladaemon of Meridian, were targeted by the Weaver, who aims to corrupt this hive and twist it for their dark purposes.
