Titans are warriors—heroic defenders of the Light, channeling the gifts of the Traveler to wage war on the Darkness. Steadfast and sure, Titans face any challenge head-on, serving as blunt force instruments of the Traveler’s will.

Titans have long honed the power of the Traveler, passing these skills to each new generation of their storied and prestigious Orders. Their strength gave birth to the City, and they have taken a blood oath to ensure it will always stand strong. The Wall surrounding the City was built by the first Titans, who gave their lives defending it against the Fallen during the Battle of Six Fronts. Many like to think they are their faceless knights, protecting us from our countless enemies. But their power and resolve gives them the air of rising gods of war.

The Warlock representative on the Vanguard is the resolute and stern Commander Zavala, who acts as the de facto leader of the Vanguard.

Sunbreaker

“The fire burned within us. Not by choice, not because we sought the flame. But because there was no other way. When you stood before the Forge, there was no doubt. No fear. Not even anger. My order stood for generations. We held against the shadow, bearing a weapon that seared flesh and melted bone.

Sunbreakers make heavy use of traditional hand-to-hand weapons such as swords, hammers, and battleaxes.

The signature weapon of the Sunbreaker orders is the Hammer of Sol, a throwing hammer infused with Solar Light. Another popular manifestation of a Sunbreaker's Light is the two-handed Burning Maul, which is used for sweeping melee attacks.

Defenders

"I'm shaking, hands on my knees, panting. Let the monsters come. Let them come forever. Let them climb the piled bodies of their dead. I don't care. Let them come in their hundreds and everyone will die at my feet. I don't care about their homing rockets, their exotic matter slugs, their blades from another dimension."

Defender Titans are immovable anchors, trained to absorb punishment and control the flow of battle.

Armed with unflinching conviction and an armory of Void techniques, Defenders block the enemy's movements, shrug off their fiercest weapons, and rally fellow Guardians to strike back.

Chief among those techniques is the Ward of Dawn, an impenetrable dome of Light that stops projectiles in their tracks. Some Defenders prefer a more proactive approach, and instead wield a Sentinel Shield as they charge into close-quarters combat.

Striker

"Some doctrines argue that the role of a titan is to stand in defense of the City. The Strikers see a crackling offence as the best defense. Strikers throw their bodies at incoming fire so others wont have to. It's also the most direct line to a target. Because, you see, when a Striker turns her entire body into a projectile, no one is truly safe.

And at close quarters, a fist is better than any gun."

Striker Titans charge into close combat, armored in Light and wielding fistfuls of thunder.

Striker tactics depend on shock and disciplined aggression. They must awe and scatter the enemy, or risk being overwhelmed. Fellow Guardians prize their ability to draw fire as they shatter the enemy line.

The signature ability of Strikers is Fist of Havoc, where they slam into the ground and unleash a shockwave of Arc energy. Other more reckless Strikers prefer Thundercrash, which channels the destructive force of a Fist of Havoc into the wielder's body, who then rockets forward and devastates the first unfortunate soul they collide with.
