The Pelegonic Tongue, more commonly called Common and sometimes called Pelegonic Common or Imperial, is the language spoken by most of Yekare. The Common tongue originates from Kardunash, who exported the language through conquest and trade. Even when Kardunash left the continents of Yekare and Avanar, it left them with the language of Common. Common was further spread across Yekare through the rise of Pelegon, an Empire originating from the regions where Common is natively spoken. It is written in three scripts: the Eastern Script, Western Script, and Celestial Script. The Western Script is an abjad, with implied vowels as opposed to the diacritical marks which denote vowels in the Eastern Script. On some occasions, usually for religious or political purposes, the Celestial script is also used. This practice is rare outside of Yekare however.

Common is the language of diplomacy across most of the world, and as such most diplomats, foreign ministers, and government officials are expected to know Common.

In the Eastern Script, the word "and" is written exclusively as "&".
