Lysbar (written in Elvish as Lys Bar), meaning "White Forest", was one of the three Great Elvish Realms. Lysbar was established deep in the snowy tundras of El-Bayir, and it came to become a gleaming realm of ice and snow, growing to magnificent heights. However, it was destroyed by the Dark Lord Malagazh's army of dragons in the early years of the Fourth Age. For its entire lifespan, it was ruled by its founder, Felaern. The ruins of Lysbar were found by an expedition sent by Sylvanion and Glorandal to learn what had become of their companion, leading to a period of great mourning. In the thousands of years since, the Dark Lord Malagazh has returned to Lysbar and rebuilt it into a dark parody of its former glory. In the ancient city, he gathers his strength.
