The Ba'hram Desert is a large and dry desert located in the center of Yekare. It is sparsely populated and politically unorganized, with the largest population center (Manzil Jabal) only having 50,000 people.

The desert is occupied by thousands of tribes. Some of these tribes are nomadic, while others have small villages. For outsiders, the desert is an inhospitable wasteland, but the Ba'hramites have found ways to survive in the harsh environment.

The Ba’hram makes for a tempting trade venue, as many unique spice plants grow in the sands and are cultivated and manufactured by the various Ba’hrammite tribes, houses, and city-states. A major artery of trade, the Spice Road, passes through the desert, passing through major spice venues.

Many notable spices, such as the Kiss of Winter, are uniquely cultivated in the Ba’hram.

"Prince" is the most commonly used title of authority amongst the Ba'hramites, leading the desert to often be referred to as the Land of a Thousand Princes. Prince is used differently in the desert than it is in other lands, being akin to a vague title of political authority. Some nations are ruled by a Prince analogous to a King, while others might be ruled by a Prince more analogous to a president or governor. Many rich Ba’granite merchants are referred to as “merchant princes” due to this practice.

Attire

The Bah'ramites wear a wide array of protective garments to survive the harsh desert. Long flowing robes are the most common, to allow wind to better cool the wearer. Under this, clothing is light and loose. Hoods are usually worn over the head to protect from sunburn. Hoods are also designed to be quickly adjusted to cover the mouth to protect against the frequent and deadly sandstorms. Clothing is usually decorated with patterns and bright colors, and the base fabric is also usually some bright color. This has the double feature of looking good while also causing the wearer to stand out against the desert landscape, which makes a potential rescue easier to execute.
