IV 29 - IV 1375

Succeeded byDi Shi Sho

Di Shi, full name Di Shi Sun, was the founder and first ruler of Xiao. Sources claimed him to be a strange angelic man with bright blue eyes, youthful appearance, and white hair. He was an outlander who arrived in the lands which would become Xiao during the Dark Age of Man. He led settlers to settle the fertile plains in what would become Wu Shu and made his kingdom there. According to legend, he made peace with the dragons of Avanar, creating a mutual air of collaboration and friendship which persists to this day. According to legend, Di Shi did not die, but was summoned back from whence he came by the Elohim, leaving Xiao to govern itself. Di Shi is regarded as the pinnacle of virtue and statesmanship in Xiao culture and is worshipped as a national patron deity by the Xiao.

Identity

It is strongly believed by historians of the Academy of Kardunash, Great University of Makaruset, University of Thalos, and other noted learning institutions that Di Shi may in fact be Unknown, fourth son of Deshen, or a son of Sethen. It is believed that "Di Shi" is a bastardization of the name Deshen, while Sun may be a simplified form of Unknown. An alternative hypothesis, championed by many within the Order of the Magi and scholars in Meradarath and Shortrest, posits that Di Shi was not Sethen himself but rather his son by Sha, who (if the legends are true) was his lover and with whom he fathered multiple Demigods children.
