Beldoran Pelegon was the second son of Sirdas I. In the year IV 182, due to widespread rumors that Shahanshah Pelegon II's children were illegitimate, the Shahanshah attempted to kill all of his siblings and their families to ensure that no rival could press any claim on the grounds of his children being bastards. However, Beldon and his family escaped, initiating the Years of Blood and Iron. Beldon declared himself Shahanshah, though since he did not hold the Imperial seat of Arcanopolis, this claim is not recognized by historians. Beldon would later take his brother Abbos Pelegon as his chief advisor. Beldon was killed in battle in V 194. However, unsubstantiated rumors claim that he died from an arrow to the back of his neck. It is popularly believed, though unproven, that Abbos orchestrated Beldon's death so that he could install the more easilly manipulated young Pelegon to the throne as opposed to his strong-willed father.
