Canoron was the third and final King of Mankind.

Early in his life, Canoron was a noted scholar and warrior who frequently studied and created lore and kept counsel with learned men. He was sibling to Shara and Jarosh. He was incredibly close to his sister Shara. Canoron was the first to accept the allegiance of Jielong and his followers, and he convinced the rest of the ruling council and the Gods to accept the dragons. For this he became known as Canoron Dragonfriend. Canoron was the first dragonrider, bonding with the dragon hatchling Baarothren, who became his mount.

During the War of the Gods, Canoron was among his father's most loyal supporters. He was present at the Duel of the Broken Lands and helped organize the survivors following the death of Deshen.

Seduced by the Crimson King, Canoron was consumed by jealousy and lust for power. Shortly after the end of the War of the Gods Canoron killed his older brother Abuleth and usurped the throne. For this he would become known as Canoron Kinslayer and the Traitor King. His reign was very brief, as his coup only further added to the chaos which was consuming the kingdom in the wake of the onset of mortality. Canoron turned his back to the Gods and began to worship the Bloodstar, hoping that it could grant immortality for him and his family. The Great Temple of Beld was destroyed, and in its place was built a temple to Blood Star worship. He summoned demons and sacrificed thousands of his people in an attempt to summon the Crimson King to the mortal world, prompting an intervention by Beld. As the capital of the Deshenite Kingdom burned, Beld sent his angel Jeshorath the Avenger, to kill the upstart king. The two dueled as the city was laid low. Canoron was no match for an angel and in the end, Jeshorath struck Canoron down with a great blow from her blade made from Beld's feathers. severely injuring him.
