Carric Meliane

PC

Carric Meliane is a human with an elvish name. He was left on the doorstep of an elvish couple as an infant and no one knows anything about his birth parents. His elvish parents, Lia and Vall Meliane, were accomplished woodworkers in a small town to the northeast of Neverwinter called Cragfoot (it's at foot of the Crags mountain range). As he grew to adulthood--a tall, wirey, handsome man whose dad owns a dealership--he found that the rose-shaped birthmark on his left palm allowed him to manifest magic. When he was sixteen, goblin raiders attacked his village and he used his new-found abilities to single-handedly fight off the raiders and defeat their bugbear captain. His adopted parents, however, disappeared in the attack. For the last ten years, Carric has wandered Faerun doing good where he can and squandering whatever money he happens to earn on the vices of the city--he loves to drink and gamble. He doesn't visit brothels, he's charming enough that he's never needed to.

One late addition--Carric's abilities lean towards subterfuge. He was recognized and recruited to the Harper's organization by an anonymous figure in Neverwinter, and his contact since then has been Sister Garaele.

Just prior to the party's quest to secure a massive pirate treasure, the goddess Sune came to Carric in a vision and explained that she was the source of his magical powers. The birthmark on his hand (that he uses for a spellcasting focus) changed to reveal an image of Sune.
