The Ereidin High Council is a mysterious organization of powerful and apparently immortal entities that classifies and standardizes a wide variety of ideas and concepts, disseminating their rulings to the world through the Sentries of Ereidin.
While there are many suspicions held and rumors circulated about the true nature and identities of the Council, their rulings are often considered just, and are eventually adopted worldwide. In addition to their work in standardization, the Council is seen as a purely neutral judicial body, and quarrels between nations are often brought before the Council to receive an impartial ruling, though this usually requires an offering of great value, accepted by the Sentries.
The Council is responsible for the Iron Calendar, the classifications of the gods (at least in Atavar), the increasing prevalence of the Kalhastian time system and timekeepers, among other things.
