Taerin Ucarin is a formidable mountain range that lies in southern Sanaris, north of the border to the Nightspell Moors and its sister range, Taerin Forcas. The name originates from a particular elven dialect of Sanaris, translating roughly to "over knife".
The mountains are harsh and unforgiving, offering few comforts against the many perils that lie on their slopes. Alongside a variety of dangerous creatures, the mountains are used as bases for hobgoblin raiders, who take advantage of the mountain's geography to establish highly defensible positions against any Obsidian Guard that might attempt to oust them. The Divine Branch was known to operate from the mountains as well, staging their strike from groves they tended deep in the hills.
