A pair of rounded iron pauldrons that engraved with intricate detail. They appear to be incredibly accurate interpretations of eyeballs.
Effects
When worn by a creature, it gives them an extra +2 to perception checks. Creatures wearing these epaulets cannot be surprised.
CURSED: This item immediately attunes to any creature that wears it. Tendrils snake their way into the creature’s skin, bonding to it. The eyes in the pauldrons open, giving the creature sight through them.
History
The Peas discovered the pauldrons in a pocket dimension after defeating a strange, ooze-like entity. Wander later goaded Phaelnah Ellarian to put on the epaulets, and they immediately latched onto her. Phaelnah was later able to remove the item after casting Remove Curse on it, but not without a bit of pain.
While Phaelnah was initially opposed to the use of the item, she has expressed interest in using it again for its powerful boons.
