William is an old mapmaker that resides in Tevari Port Town, near the southwest end on the main road leading out of the town. Merin Lavelle is his apprentice.

Description

William is a thin, frail looking man, somewhat small and hunched in stature. His long, white hair seems to grow from everywhere but the top of his head. His dark skin is wrinkled and covered in liver spots. His clothing is relatively simple, save for the giant glasses he wears that appear to be cut from bottles of jam.

Skills and Abilities

William is apparently a gifted mapmaker. He also seems to be quite the capable screamer.

Long ago, William was an accomplished adventurer, who was at least moderately gifted in magic. He was capable of identifying the party's magic items.

History

William once adventured with a powerful group of heroes, and apparently played a crucial role in defeating a great evil.

At some point, William learned mapmaking, and took on Merin Lavelle as an apprentice.

Biography

Tevari Isles

He burst into Advar's Tavern screaming about his missing apprentice. Grognock was able to intimidate him into calming down a bit, and he explained, kind of, his problems to the party.

William accompanied the party back to his house, imploring them to find his apprentice. He seemed to be incapable of providing any detail. He later followed the party all the way to Havarson's Keep, and began his screaming again. He later went back to his house with the party as they began to investigate his missing apprentice again.

William appeared once again at the bandit hideout, blocking the entrance to a back room. Upon the defeat of Kreegal, William passed out. Merin picked him up to carry him out of the hideout. Upon arriving back at his house in Tevari Port Town, William regained consciousness. He rewarded the party for their help, and identified the magic items they picked up in the hideout.

Following the destruction of Tevari Port Town, William decided to stay behind to help others escape. While Merin was confident of his well-being, his current fate is ultimately unknown.
