The Moon Man was a strange man encountered by the Peas a ways off the road to Caedalir from Madrioc. Phaelnah heard the man creaming for help from a distance, and the party went to investigate. As it turned out, the fully armored man had built himself into a giant sling pointed directly at the sky, but was unable to reach the lever on the outside. He begged the party to launch him into the sky so that he could "fly to the moon" and meet with his goddess Unavaranu, but ultimately, the party refused, not wishing to doom the man. Leadbelly attempted to free the man from his contraption by destroying one of the support beams of the structure, but that began a chain reaction that ended with the tower falling over, and the man being launched at an angle, disappearing far into the sky.
The Moon Man was fully covered in sheet armor, complete with a bucket helmet. He had unwavering devotion to his goddess, believing that she had visited him in a vision, supplanting the designs for his moon slingshot. He sold all his property and belongings to buy the materials to fashion this device.
