Luciel I Quinnlee

This character is dead.
Queen of Tír, "Mad Queen Lucy"
NPC

Luciel was the first child of King Ira III Quinnlee and his wife, Lady Isobel. She was by all accounts a very quiet child, and as she entered her adolescent years her now-infamous mental illness began to develop as she became increasingly more unpredictable and bipolar.

Her father stepped down from the Tiran throne as his dementia continued to worsen, leading Luciel to become sole monarch of The Kingdom of Tir in 2A 9891. Her first actions as Queen were to order the most ridiculous coronation sword imaginable and then to announce that the nation's best architects build a cathedral to Leannan (a goddess whose church generally does not worship inside of buildings at all.) Her erratic behaviour rapidly unnerved the members of the Trade Council, as she would often miss meetings or, when she did turn up to them, act incredibly paranoid and hawkish towards the other members of the Council and frequently accused the Imperial delegates of trying to undermine Tir. On one occasion, she famously shouted into the face of Fae King Alvor IV over discussions about a unified currency for use within the Trade Council's member states. In another incident, she offhandedly threatened war with the Troll Empire if anyone who was not an Elf won the mayoral election for Caislean and then acted as if nothing had happened, changing the subject whenever it was brought up.

While manic and often aggressive, Luciel was admired for her beauty and, to her credit, was an extremely skilled and passionate architect, designing amongst other things the Fortress of Balla, The Black and White Towers in the same city and the docks at Coillearnach. Her obsession with her mortality and her manic behaviour did however lead to multiple issues, such as promiscuous, hedonistic behaviour (which ironically is at complete odds with Lucilitism, the sect of the Church of the Green she founded) and the aforementioned delusions. Her two sons, Ira IV and Hugh, were of unknown paternity and were both legitimised by her against her mother's wishes, and her constant threats towards the other members of the Trade Council, as well as her rapid expansion of Tir's military, had the Imperial Troll Empire and its allies constantly on edge.

Sadly her method of coping with her issues was her downfall. Her lifelong Spore addiction, picked up from her raucous private life, led to her being removed as monarch in 2A 9922, but she died of an overdose mere hours before she was due to defend herself. She was succeeded by her child brother, who became King Virion II with their mother Lady Isobel as Regent.

Within the fae population, those who dislike their neighbours the Grand Duchy of Tir whisper Queen Luciel was a consumer of Unicorn Blood and call for greater protection for Unknown herds.
