The Jade Foxes were hired by Felicia d'Cannith to help protect Sharn from an eldritch machine that had just been located underneath it. Unfortunately it was discovered that it could be activated with the aid of a book; her sources had learned that the book in question was deep within the Mournland. Unfortunately several other factions were also after the book, so time was of the essence.
To help them in their quest, Felicia d'Cannith sent Strike with the Jade Foxes as the warforged had some experience with the Mournland. Felicia d'Cannith has also hired an airship to take the party to their location, and offered them a Teleport Stone to get them back quickly.
The Jade Foxes spent a day or two on the airship, but over the Mournland they were attacked during a storm. Several warforged led by Glaive boarded the airship and attempted to kill the Jade Foxes. Rahl Morninglow set the airship on fire; with the airship about to fall from the sky, the Jade Foxes jumped and used feather tokens to land safely in the snowy forest below. They landed separately, but quickly reestablished contact and headed towards their destination.
On leaving the forest, the Jade Foxes were attacked by goblins after the book. Most of the Jade Foxes hung back due to the terrible snow making fighting difficult, but Strike charged forwards in an attempt to reach their targets. Unfortunately underneath some of the loose snow that he stepped on was an abominable snowman. The goblins ran at the sight of the snowman, leaving it to the Jade Foxes to deal with. After it was defeated, the Jade Foxes headed into a cave entrance to shelter and rest, before heading deeper into the mountain (JF16. The Frozen King).
