The Emerald Claw were once a mercenary faction of great repute, saving Karrnath from losing the The Last War. They were heavily linked to the Blood of Vol religion. However, King Kaius III expelled them towards the end of the war, blaming the famine on Blood of Vol necromancers, and citing heir extremism.
The Claw are now an underground terrorist organising, attracting both Karrnathi patriots who want to enter Karrnath into a new war to give them control of Eberron, and Blood of Vol fanatics, who believe the Claw's leader, the mysterious lich known as the Queen of Death, will somehow lead them to immortality.
It is important to note that most Blood of Vol worshippers despise the Claw for giving them a bad name.
Aftermath of the Lithri the Smiter's Assassination And the Defeat of Erandis Vol
Following the events of KA03. The Cutting of the Claw and KA05. Worlds Collide / KA01-05. Epilogue, the Claw's power and influence in Karrnath quickly declined. It hadn't gone for good, but it was certainly no longer a threat of any kind to Kaius III's power.
