Boras d'Cannith

Lord
NPC

A leading member of House Cannith, who according to a newspaper article is planning on running for Patriarch of House Cannith.  Father to Elias d'Cannith, and widower to Aurora, sister of Felicia d'Cannith, who was lost in Cyre on the Day of Mourning.

The Jade Foxes have had several encounters with his schemes:

  1. They disrupted his attempt to marry his son Elias d'Cannith to Nyx Malachan, daughter of notorious crime boss Thule 'Bearkiller' Malachan (JF03. You Are Cordially Invited).
  2. They took down his operation at Silent Stream Mine, which involved using the scales of a brain-dead dragon to manufacture Lyrium, a potent solution designed to upgrade the warforged (JF10. Mystery Of The Mine).
  3. Masque used an airship, the Maker's Destiny, commanded by Elias d'Cannith, to attempt to assassinate King Boranel ir'Wynarn (JF12. Attempt On The King).
  4. Doctor Lucian Weaver, an archaeologist missing in Q'Barra, had his initial expedition funded by Boras.  This was apparently one of several expeditions across Q'Barra and the Talenta Plains funded by Boras.  The King's Dark Lanterns believed that he was looking for weapons (JF17. The Sunken Wreck, JF18. Exploring Cinderwatch, JF19. Completing The Circle).
  5. Felicia d'Cannith warned the Jade Foxes that Boras was on an archeological dig, and his son Elias d'Cannith would know where he was.  Following the trail, the Jade Foxes found that Boras' ultimate plan was to unleash a creature known as Odessa on the Breland-Aundair border; he hoped this would restart the Last War, allowing House Cannith to sell arms to all sides once more.

Following the Jade Foxes prevention of his plan, Boras was put on trial in Sharn for his crimes.  The trial collapsed, and Boras faded into obscurity.
