Basically the archetype of 'shit which happens on the farm stays at the farm', with a mix of 'courage the cowardly dog' thrown into the mix - Sam (or "Iowa", as most people have taken to calling her) is no stranger to Weird Things happening in her vicinity, though for the most part she puts up a tough exterior and chooses to ignore it most often than not.
Red eyes in the cornfield? Probably a local Leipard trying to eat the Ducklett. Weird lights in the sky? Probably a newfangled airplane being tested. A weird hand on her shoulder, something standing behind her? She doesn't see it, she swears, and you can't make her turn around. No she's NOT scared, she's not a little bit pale, stop looking at her like that.
All in all, Iowa lives on a ranch and for the most part is a local farmhand, except for the fact that she might possibly be an old friend of Briar - or at the very least, she caught Briar's eye and often gets dragged around by her for "adventures", These situations which usually revolve around Iowa running around to rescue Briar out of whatever problem she's gotten herself into.
Overall, she's an honest, hard-working stick in the mud, but ultimately very loyal and will jump to be of aid when push comes to shove.
