Earion

Earion is the capital city of Theder as well as the administrative city of Middenfall. It is also the seat of power for The Crown of Theder and The Council of Theder.

The huge circular city is protected by multiple walls, and it slopes up to a central hill. Thick external walls protect the outer districts, with the only gates to the east and west. A second inner wall protects the Crown District, and a third wall encircles the Citadel.

Beyond the East Gate lies Deepwall Wood, though the trees are kept back from the walls so as not to provide cover for an invading force. The west gate opens onto Theder's farming belt, countless rolling hills of ploughed earth and paddocks for grazing.

Districts

Earion is made up of six districts, which are divided by walls:

• The Four Quarters are the outermost of the districts, named for the side of the city they are on:
  • The North Quarter
  • The South Quarter
  • The East Quarter
  • The West Quarter
• The Inner Sanctum describes the parts of the city within the second and third walls:
  • The Crown District
  • The Citadel

Government

The city acts as the administrative capital of Middenfall, with the Enderwines overseeing both the The Council of Theder, which performs administrative duties for the country, and The Council of Middenfall, who perform administrative duties for the region.

The Earion Municipal Government is headed by The Mayor of Earion, who also oversees the court and the city's law enforcement. Elections are held in the city every four years.
