Oracles in Ethri'il are "chosen" at birth or even before birth by a Deity or other like Power. If that Power, or deity dies--or just abandons the Oracle--any power can speak through the Oracle.
The Oracle in Emberwood is one such person cursed to have lost their god--now any voice may speak through them.
