Malden is the capital of the province of Herzer in the Kingdom of Arden. The name of the town derives from the river Malda, an old Thaelian term for the rapid waters. The population stands at about 6'400 inside the town walls.

History

Malden was founded by Orlene explorers around 300 AE, although its official history began in 381 AC when the garrison was built. Almond trees were planted by the first settlers and became a stable of the town.

Economy

Malden is home to several carriage making companies, most famously the Rieswagen carriage builders owned by the Riesmann family.
