Autumn Hunt

Hunt

Tilley's Autumn Hunt happens every year. In it, groups of up to 10 members each head out for 36 hours into the wilderness and try and find something that will wow the jury. The event is organised by Tilley's hunter lodge.

Rules

The rules are vague by design, to avoid people complaining. Groups have 30 hours to find something impressive and bring it back. In the past, people have brought back monsters, treasure, a famous inhabitant purposefully hiding, or simply a lost family heirloom. In 989 AC, Garry Harlow won without presenting anything to the jury, simply because all the other contestants mysteriously died while looking for things to bring back. Some accused Garry of killing the other members, but it was never confirmed. Garry moved away from Tilley shortly after when a mob burnt down his home, which claimed his father as a victim.

Bringing back a beast has historically been high risk but also high reward, with teams being disqualified if the beast attacks or kills onlookers during the judging process.

Jury

Three jury members are chosen for the event, and aren't announced until the event starts, to avoid members plotting in advance. However, various jury members are better than others at keeping a secret. A member of the hunter's lodge has always been a jury member.

Prize

The winner gets a commemorative plate. Businesses will sponsor teams to represent them, in exchange of displaying the plate in their business to attract prestige and customers.

Recent developpments

From 1012 to1023 AC, Harris Yorehil systematically won. This has led to the event loosing appeal, as he is the head of the hunter's lodge, which organises the event. Following Lady Trudgeon's fundraiser in 1024, and the fallout from his drunken appearance, Harris has decided to not participate for the year.

Hunt of 1024 AC

For the first time in recent history, the hunting lodge was not involved in either the jury, nor as actual participants.

Jury

This edition's jury is a mix of all things Tilley.

  • Gina Honeyflower, a newcommer to the village, hired to bring a fresh outlook on the hunt.
  • Brandon Onyxknives, a local tattoo artist, hired to bring an artistic and more "of the people" touch to the jury.
  • Duke Edmin Arkelow, representing his daughter which could not make it, to bring back prestige to the event.

Participants

With the hunting lodge not participating in this year's edition, a lot of first-time participants participated.
