To the south of University District lies Merchant Town, one vast hive of buying and selling. Merchant Street runs east/west through the middle of the district, bisecting the massive Market Square which lies in the center.
This district is the heart of trade and commerce for not just Haven Towne but the entire Inner Archipelago. Merchant shops line both sides of Merchant Street and its tributaries, the Market Square hosts a huge open air 24 hour market that spills out into the surrounding streets and alleys.

The only notable building in the Merchant District is the Mercatillium, a six story, five acre warren of small shops, narrow stairs and corridors that lies off Merchant street to the west of Market Square. Merchants that have shops in the Mercatillium generally live there as well, and over the years it has become a world in and of itself as whole generations are born and die inside its walls. A world with a somewhat seedy reputation, as most of Havens contraband goods and services flow through here.
North of Merchant, the district becomes residential and increasingly upscale until it abuts South Harbor Avenue and the University District
South of Merchant you reach South Dock , a private dockside owned and jealously guarded by the The Merchant Houses of Haven.
