The Twins is a monarchy, but effectively has functioned as a client state of Haven for the last fifty odd years. The King is dominated by merchant interests, both foreign and domestic, and has very little power. Overall the island is rocky with poor agriculture, so the majority of the population make their living from the sea, either in trade or fishing. There is also a brisk mining industry in the southern parts of the island. Most citizens of the Twins reside in Twinport.
